STEM-Ed: Summer Pro-D Program

UBC Vancouver

Ideas encourage teachers to take chances with everyday materials to encourage engineering questions and applications for both problem solving and communication. Exceedingly well organized in both presentation and materials provided. Guest speaker useful and cognitively challenging. Highly recommend this workshop to other fellow teachers. – Engineering for Your Classroom Participant
Everything was extremely valuable. I appreciated how hands-on the activities were and how we were able to try all of the activities in advance so that we know how to better teach them. – Engineering for Your Classroom Participant

Geering Up is excited to offer a STEM-focused summer teacher training program for grades 4 – 7 teachers and administrators. Join us for 2 and a half days of hands-on science, engineering, and tech activities which you can use in your classroom, an opportunity to interact with Geering Up camp participants and participate in the activities and content they are learning,  and teacher-led discussions about the triumphs and challenges you have experienced with STEM activities in your classroom.

The content will be focused on activities which connect to the new Applied Design, Skills and Technologies curriculum, along with science, math, and other curricular areas. We will explore a variety of tech-focused and non-tech focused activities. Participants will be able to indicate their interests in the application form and we will keep this in mind when planning the activities and which camps teachers will participate in.
